We are located in a rapidly growing part of Baltimore County. In 2017 we responded to more than 4,400 emergency calls!

We have several membership categories from which to choose.

  • Operational (Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics)

  • Rehab (provide food and drink on scene of large or extended fire and police incidents)

  • Corporate (administrative)

What membership is best for me?

Operational: Joining as an operational member can be exciting and rewarding. Once you become a member, you are enrolled in basic training, including CPR, Hazmat Ops, Bloodborne Pathogens, and an orientation program. You then choose which your path: Fire, EMS, or both. Firefighters are enrolled into Firefighter I, which consist of 108 hours of classroom and practical learning. Those interested in EMS, are enrolled into an EMT-Basic program which is approximately 200 hours long. After complete the basic courses, members may advance into classes such as rescue tech, paramedic, IV Tech, Fire Officer 1, Fire Apparatus Driver, and much more. Operational Members are expected to participate in company activities and emergency responses. Members are expected to pass a drug and alcohol test, a physical, and a background investigation.

Limited: Career firefighters, EMTs and paramedics employed within the state of Maryland can join as a Limited member. This category of membership is very similar to Operational, which is explained above. Limited members are only required to perform 50 duty hours per year. There is also no application fee. Limited members may not vote and can not hold an elected postion.

Rehab: Many of our rehab members enjoy the excitiment of responding to and assisting on the scene of an emergency, but they are not as physically involved as an operational member. As a rehab member, you will respond to large or extended fire and police incidents to provide food and drink.

Corporate:  So fighting fires and splinting a broken bone does not interest you? You still want to help out? We have the position for you! Corporate members are essential for the day to day operations of the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company. Corporate members are responsible for fundraising, membership/human resources, public relations, multi-media, station and apparatus maintenance, and much more! If you have any questions please email membership@wmvfc.org. Members are expected to complete a drug and alcohol test as well as a background investigation.
